About This Spot

True Craft Walthamstow is one of those rare corners in London where the welcoming hum of a neighborhood pub blends effortlessly with the simple joy of sharing a great pizza among friends and family. Tucked just off St James Street, it feels like a relaxed local hangout—warm and inviting without fuss, a space where time slows down just enough to appreciate good company and genuinely good food.

As you settle into the cozy, easygoing atmosphere, you notice the gentle buzz of conversation and clinking glasses—there’s a natural rhythm here that draws in a diverse crowd, from families enjoying an early dinner to small groups savoring craft beers well into the evening. The staff’s friendly attentiveness creates an environment where everyone feels comfortable, as if you’ve stumbled into a place that’s both familiar and just a little bit special.

True Craft is more than its reputation for incredible hand-stretched pizzas with crusts that marry crisp edges and chewy depth. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic vegan Margherita or a bold, spicy slice topped with nduja, each pizza arrives with thoughtfully sourced ingredients and a care that shines through in every bite. It’s the kind of food that encourages sharing—and maybe even a second round.

The drinks menu complements this laid-back experience with a carefully curated selection of craft beers and ciders, plus an approachable range of wines that feel right at home here. The bar’s rotating taps mean there’s often something new to discover, from hoppy pale ales to velvety nitro porters, all poured with the same care and knowledge that the pizzas are made.

In essence, True Craft Walthamstow offers more than just a meal or a pint. It’s the feeling of unhurried hospitality, the kind that makes you want to linger a little longer. Whether you’re looking for a spot to unwind after work, a lively place to catch up with friends, or a welcoming table for family dinner, this is a place where the simple pleasures of great food and drink meet genuine human warmth.

Hands down best pizza in London and I've had MANY. The dough is simply incredible. Staff is super friendly and accommodating, rare thing these days. They have a GF base for the pizza which actually tastes good, it makes a huge difference for gluten intolerant people. The restaurant is cozy and inviting, and lots of really good drinks on the bar. Definitely recommend!

This place is a real gem. We came as a table of 7 with two young children and from the second we arrived, the service was faultless. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and were so kind to the kids. Food and drink recommendations were great, pizzas and sandwiches were excellent, and there's a lovely selection of craft beers and interesting cocktails. I'd highly recommend and we'll definitely be back.

Great pizza and good beer. No need to eat if you are just drinking. Can be a bit full of families at times but mostly well behaved

I'm unashamedly a True Craft fan. I spent so much time at their Tottenham place so I was so excited to see they were opening a place in Walthamstow just outside St James Street. I was super excited to try them today when they opened and the pizza was as good as the early days in Tottenham. Perfectly crispy yet chewy base with delicious toppings. I had a vegan pizza and it was the best I've ever tasted. Great vibes in there with nice decor and music. Nice group of people in there and I'm excited to spend many an evening there. My new local

Amazing place with perfect pizza and nice beer. Very impressed with the vibe of the place. It is perfect to have a beer with friends and at the same time as perfect to eat a good quality pizza with family. It definitely is up there with the best pizzas i’ve ever had. Go try it out, you won’t be disappointed Pizza was so good that I even forgot to take a picture with it at the beginning. So I only have the last slice

Great place, and delicious pizza. Wasn't expecting the courgette and mushrooms to be sooo tasty. I think it will become my favourite pizza every time I go there. Well done guys welcome to the borough

Came here for a bank holiday lunch. The service is friendly in this light, airy craft bar/restaurant. I had the crafty currant session cider which was like a cross between Ribena and cider, which was nice. My brother had the Paulander Munich Helles lager which came in a massive tankard! The pizzas were as good as any I've had in Italy. We opted for the Legend and the Honey Trap, both great choices, with the confit garlic and herb dip. Definitely worth a visit. It's across from St James station on the Weever overground.

My daughter and I went here quite by chance because we were looking in and saw the menu had sourdough pizzas and it looked calm and cosy. I'm not into craft beer so we didn't get that experience but still we enjoyed the atmosphere. Cool decor and a really great place to go after a hard day at work or just to meet friends for a chat. Even on your own you would feel comfortable. The atmosphere has a good homely vibe. Staff are welcoming and the food is exceptional. We are definitely going back again.
